Lawrence (Larry) Downing, an ordained Seventh-day Adventist pastor, retired after 40 years of parish ministry. For more than 15 years he was a La Sierra University adjunct professor in the School of Business and Management and the School of Religion. He also was a visiting professor in the Schools of Business and Theology at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies in the Philippines. Downing and his wife have three grown children and four grandchildren. He has written numerous articles for a variety of Adventist publications, including Adventist Today.
