André Reis has a BA in Theology from the São Paulo Adventist University in Brazil, where he worked for three years as a Research Assistant and Translator at the Ellen White Research Center. After graduating, he worked as a pastor and Bible teacher. He emigrated to the USA in 1996 and took theology and music courses at Andrews University, where he was the tenor soloist for Andrews University Singers and also wrote for the CrossTalk of the Student Movement journal. He completed a Masters in Music at the Longy School of Music in 2003. In 2005 he had the privilege of performing at Carnegie Hall under John Rutter.
 
True to his two passions, music and theology, André is currently pursuing a PhD in New Testament at Avondale College, concentrating on apocalyptic literature. In 2011 he taught advanced biblical Greek classes and New Testament interpretation at the Adventist Latin American Theological Seminary in Ecuador. His interests as a writer include new views on Ellen White, eschatology and the future of Adventism. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, composing and playing with his kids. He, his wife and three daughters are active members of the Florida Hospital SDA Church.
