Andy Hanson is an Emeritus Professor of Education at California State University, Chico. He is married to Claudia, his wife of 49 years and they have three children and seven grandchildren. He taught Language Arts in an Adventist junior academy and English in a public high school before accepting a professorship at Chico State in 1972. He is a liberal Adventist who has served his church as a Sabbath school teacher, an elder, school board member, and acting principal. He is currently a senior news writer for Adventist Today.  His hobbies include fishing, writing, golf, and collecting police procedural novels from all over the world.
