Hoehn, Jack
Jack Hoehn is a Sabbath School teacher, first ordained as a local church elder at age 21. Jack was deeply and positively influenced by the writings of Ellen White. He has a BA in Religion from Pacific Union College under Drs. Leslie Hardinge, William Hyde, and Robert Olson. Further studies have been taken at Seminar Schloss Bogenhofen, Loma Linda University, University of Calgary, and the University of London, School of Tropical Medicine. He served the SDA church in Africa as a medical missionary for 13 years in Lesotho and Zambia. He is now a family physician practicing at the Adventist Health Medical Group in Walla Walla, Washington. His patients know him as John B. Hoehn, MD. Dr. Hoehn’s wife was recently on the North Pacific Union executive committee and is NOT responsible for anything Jack writes!
Dr. Hoehn has been previously published in the
Adventist Review on the topic of Ellen White and the use of modern medications. He has offered to continue writing about how to understand and use the writings of Sister White in the 21st century. But as the
Adventist Review is no longer open to all Adventist thought, he would like to share commentary, ideas, books, and approaches to science and inspiration in the independent and open Adventist media. With the 144,000 he is committed to following the Lamb “withersoever He goeth!” Even when that leads to new places for Adventism.
